Khilafah versus Democracy
Khilafah and Democracy are very similar. However, people mistake khilafah to be like democracy. The real thing is that democracy is a copy of khilafah. The difference between khilafah and democracy is that shariah is the constitution of a khilafat but the elected people make a constitution by themselves.

Salam Alaikum,
Dear brother in Islam,
I humbly disagree with you on this point. If you see from a distance, these two are somewhat close to each other, especially in modern world. But I don't consider them the same. There is a huge difference between them.
Democracy is based on popular sovereignty whereas Khilafah is based on Allah's sovereignty. In Khilafah the people at large are consulted in the issues those are not found in the Qur'an or Sunnah. And please note that every issue is not necessarily decided on the basis of counting of votes. That means you can also adopt a restricted franchise rather than adult franchise.
I agree with what you have written but even then this post is applicable. Anyways, I plan to create a new post in a few minutes inshallah.
